Another Sew Mama Sew Giveaway Day is upon us, and I’ve had so much fun entering in the past that this time around I decided to spread the love and get in on the giving!

I love giving gifts in general, and haven’t given a whole lot of handmade gifts as of yet. Last year I used Word to make a cover for a gift card for my parents telling them that it was a Magic Gift Card and would transform into a gift card for any place they loved. That was fun.
Yowza! What an awesome giveaway! My stash needs some new friends, hehe. I like giving table runners, wall hangings or zippered pouches, all of which usually go together pretty quick.

My favorite hand made gift to give is a table runner.
I make a bag of some sort each year for my dance company’s final Secret Santa gift. It’s always lots of fun to pick out fabrics in her favorite colors and surprise her with the type of bag I think she’d like most.
Honestly, I love to give quilts, but they’re so costly and time-consuming I obviously don’t get to do it often.
I love customizing the gift for the recipient so I don’t have any specific go-to item that I make for gifts. This year my kids are getting furry hoods, family are getting bowl cozies and I’ll make some sort of tasty treat for the neighbors.

I love giving things that are handpainted – ornaments, boxes, etc. I’m just starting to sew, so this year is my first giving sewn gifts!
I love getting away homemade cookies and candies.
I love giving hats. They’re so well used around these parts that everyone needs a hat and they’re so quick to make!

I’ve been making lined drawstring bags to act as the gift wrap as well as being part of the gift.
I love making quilts for everyone and they all enjoy them. I know that over the years all my grand children and children have wore some of them out.

Mug Rugs! They are cute, easy and fun!
I like making gifts that I know the recipient will use. My father-in-law is always drinking coffee and loves to have a treat with it so I usually make him a placemat or mug rug.

I have made some bags to give as gifts, and little things like fabric ornaments, but really my favorite thing to give is a quilt. It’s a big undertaking, so I don’t manage to give more than one or two a year, but I just love being able to give something that means so much.

I like to give different things depending on the person I’m giving it to. I’m to the point where if it doesn’t speak that person’s name to me I’m not going to take the time to make something. So it varys, pouches, dresses, scarves, vests, wall hangings; these are some of the things I’ve made in the past.
It totally depends on the recipient- I love giving baby quilts, or something really personal for the grown-ups. This is an amazing prize- and I’ve had the Hen’n More ruler on my wish list for a while!!
